A December 2012 World Bank statement described external anti-corruption panel review and the ACC investigation posture. In 2014, bdnews24 reported that a Bangladesh court accepted the ACC final report and acquitted seven accused after the ACC said it found no trace of corruption. Canada's official annual report later stated that after wiretap evidence was ruled inadmissible, the prosecution called no evidence and Kevin Wallace and Zulfiquar Ali Bhuiyan were acquitted; it also noted the prosecution against Abul Hasan Chowdhury had been stayed. Dhaka Tribune reporting in 2025 recorded ACC chairman comments about reviving the case.
